FRP composite manhole covers built for the Gulf — tested to BS EN 124:2015

SMC / FRP covers and gully gratings in load classes A15 to D400. They do not corrode in salt air, weigh about a quarter of cast iron, and have no resale value — so they stay where you put them. Manufactured in Qingdao, shipped direct to Jebel Ali, Dammam, Hamad and Sohar.

Why the Gulf is switching to composite

Cast iron has three enemies in a coastal city: salt, heat and the scrap dealer. Glass-fibre composite removes all three at once.

01

No scrap value

There is no market for used composite. Theft for resale — the single largest cause of cover loss — simply stops.

02

Cannot corrode

Salt air, sulphate soils, chlorine and sewage have no effect. No rust, no seizing in the frame, no repainting.

03

One-man handling

A 600 mm cover weighs about 18 kg against 70 kg in iron. Installation and inspection become a one-person job.

04

Quieter streets

Composite absorbs impact instead of ringing. A shock-absorbing rubber ring also stops the rock and rattle that fail inspections.

05

Signal transparent

Radio and 5G pass straight through. Smart-city sensors, utility meters and IoT nodes can sit under the cover and still transmit.

06

Your mark, moulded in

Surface pattern, colour, city crest or utility logo are moulded into the tool — not painted on. It cannot wear off.

Product range

Three standard families, all in the same SMC composite, all proof-loaded to the class they carry.

NX-R · Round covers

300–900 mm, A15 to D400. The default for water, sewer, telecom and district cooling. Non-through lifting hole, T-key operated.

NX-W · Watertight

600×600 mm, A15 to D400. Full-perimeter gasket, screw lock. For pump stations, treatment works and flood-prone basements.

NX-S · Square covers

300 / 400 / 600 mm, A15 to B125 standard, C250–D400 on request. For utility chambers and paved footways.

Gratings & trench covers

Gully gratings, cable and telecom trench covers, tree grilles, water meter boxes — same material, same tooling discipline.
